Helping children grow strong in Musumba Village, DRC

Decades of turmoil have made one of the world’s most resource-rich countries into one of the its poorest. Over 10%* of children in the Democratic Republic of Congo do not see their 5th birthday.

Feed Congo Kids is working to change that. We fund and train local nurses to save the lives of malnourished children in the isolated village of Musumba in the Kapanga region of DRC.

Our village nurses identify, treat, and track the recovery of the neediest children in their community. Our peanut-based Ready to Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) product, “Nuts for Kids,” is made locally. Nearly all the ingredients used in this life-saving supplement are purchased in the DRC.

Making RUTF locally is more sustainable and less expensive than bringing RUTF from the U.S. It also creates local jobs and empowers the community! Please help us sustain and grow this program, which is giving hundreds of malnourished children a fighting chance.
